Energise and inspire the transformation of West Cumbria

Copeland is without question one of the most beautiful areas of the country; over two thirds of the Borough lies within the Lake District National Park. However, the Borough is a place of contrasts and we are not without challenge. There is no doubt that the greatest challenge we face is the need to sustain our economy while transforming and diversifying our economic base.

We already have great momentum in this regard with transformation at the very heart of our vision. We have some great success stories to build on, having already attracted and secured high level investment and external funding support. With further significant funding available, we want to pick up the pace with a clearer focus on our development strategy coupled with stronger operational delivery. As such, we have created two new Heads of Service posts.
